Buccaneers fire HC Dirk Koetter

The Buccaneers have opted to part ways with head coach Dirk Koetter.

Fantasy Impact

This isn't a surprise as Koetter again failed to make the playoffs in Tampa Bay. While they were able to get off to a quick start, the Bucs faltered down the stretch and went back and forth with their QBs. It appears Jameis Winston will be the team's starter to enter 2019, and they certainly have talent on offense. We'll see if they can address the defense and take a step forward in 2019.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense gashed by Falcons passing attack in Week 17

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers D/ST surrendered 489 total yards and 34 points in Sunday's Week 17 loss to Atlanta.

Fantasy Impact

While the Tampa defense sacked Matt Ryan twice and picked him off once, the Falcons had their way with the Buccaneers. The Bucs had one of the worst defenses in the league in 2018 and changes should be coming across the board.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense with another letdown in Week 16

The Buccaneers D/ST surrendered 232 total yards and 27 points in Sunday's Week 16 loss to Dallas.

Fantasy Impact

While the Tampa defense played well, holding the Cowboys to only 232 total yards, they still gave up 20 points -- seven of the Cowboys points came on a Jaylon Smith defensive score. Sacking Dak Prescott only once and forcing no turnovers, the Tama Bay defense was not a great fantasy unit in Week 16, as expected.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers D/ST struggles in Week 15 loss

The Buccaneers D/ST surrendered total yards and 20 points in Sunday's Week 15 loss to Baltimore.

Fantasy Impact

The Buccaneers only sacked Lamar Jackson twice. That was about it for the day. The Ravens seemed to have their way in another plus matchup for Lamar Jackson. The Buccaneers will have a tough out against the Cowboys next week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense plays well in loss

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers D/S surrendered 298 total yards and 28 points in Sunday's Week 14 loss to New Orleans.

Fantasy Impact

Although the Buccaneers lost, their defense didn't play badly. In fact, they held the Saints to fewer than 300 yards of total offense with a sack and an interception. They will look to finish the regular season strong down the stretch starting in Week 15 against the Ravens.
