Smith was charged with "unlawful sexual activity with certain minors" according to the Duval County Jail website. The 29-year-old didn't play in 2019 after stepping away from football to get his life in order.
The Jaguars placed Telvin Smith (personal) on their reserve/retired list Wednesday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Fantasy Impact
Smith had announced in May that he will be taking some time away from football for personal reasons. This move by the Jaguars today makes it official. Smith has the option of returning if he changes his mind.
Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith led the team with 10 tackles (eight solo) in Sunday’s 20-3 loss to the Texans.
Fantasy Impact
Smith finishes the season with 134 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two interceptions (one returned for touchdown), and two passes defensed in 16 games. He will be one of the better IDP picks once again entering 2019.
Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith recorded six tackles (five solo), one pass defended, and one interception in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Dolphins. He took the interception back 33 yards for a touchdown.
Fantasy Impact
Smith’s fourth quarter pick-six ended Miami’s hopes for a comeback and, in turn, their outside shot at a playoff berth. It was his second interception of the year. Jacksonville, who’s playoff hopes ended long ago, will finish the season at Houston in Week 17.
Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith recorded seven tackles (all solo) in Sunday’s 16-13 loss to the Redskins.
Fantasy Impact
It feels like rock bottom for the 2018 Jaguars as they lost to a team that trotted out a quarterback making his first NFL start in seven years. As for Smith, he leads the team with 118 tackles on the year, making him a top IDP start week-to-week. That will continue to hold true next week against the Dolphins.
