Theo Johnson
TE - New York Giants
Availability
Theo Johnson (illness) was a DNP on Friday due to an illness.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson was not on the injury report prior to Friday, so as long as he clears up before game time, he should be good to go against Las Vegas. Jaxson Dart should have an easier time getting Johnson and his other pass catchers the ball against this Vegas team, helping Johnson's ceiling. He's a high-end TE2 for fantasy.
Theo Johnson failed to catch either of his two targets in the Giants' 16-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 16.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson has struggled to make an impact in the New York passing attack, finishing with less than 40 receiving yards in five of his last seven games. The tight end remains difficult to trust despite a favorable Week 17 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders up next.
Theo Johnson caught 3-of-4 targets for 72 yards in the Giants 29-21 loss against the Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson led the Giants in receiving on the day, including a long catch of 42 yards. He remains on the low-end TE1 range the next couple of weeks.
Theo Johnson (toe) has been removed from the injury report for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson was able to log a full practice session on Friday after being limited by a toe injury earlier in the week. He now carries no injury designation heading into the weekend and should be a full go for New York, though he doesn't project to see enough work to be a worthwhile fantasy option.
Theo Johnson (toe) was a limited participant at practice on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Johnson was one of New York's limited players at practice on Wednesday. He's managing a toe issue, so his limited participation doesn't come as much of a surprise. He seems to be trending towards playing in Week 15, but we won't get any official word on his status until after practice on Friday.
