Tony Pollard
RB - Tennessee Titans
Week 5 Outlook
Availability
Tony Pollard rushed 22 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also added two receptions for 20 yards in Monday's victory against the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
After a slow start, Pollard broke through a struggling Dolphins defense as the game progressed. While Pollard is still receiving more work, it is worth monitoring Tyjae Spears' increased workload during Week 4's victory. Pollard should be considered an RB2 for his Week 6 matchup against the Colts.
Tony Pollard rushed the ball six times for 14 yards and caught three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Fantasy Impact
Pollard never had much of a chance at success on Sunday. Tennessee fell behind early in the game, and that led to the veteran only seeing ten opportunities over the course of the game. He has been good on the field so far this year, but the inconsistencies of Tennessee's offense will continue to hinder his production moving forward.
Tennessee Titans RB Tony Pollard saw 17 carries for 62 yards and five catches for 40 yards in their Week 2 loss to the New York Jets.
Fantasy Impact
While Pollard is dominating the workload in Tennessee, he did not reach the end zone in Week 2. After it initially seemed like the Titans would split the backfield 50/50, especially given coach comments and the two starting RBs on their initial depth chart, it is clear that Pollard will be the main actor out of the backfield. His 22 touches and 23 opportunities outpaced backfield mate Tyjae Spears (six carries and two catches on as many targets in Week 2). Pollard seems like a solid floor play going forward at RB2/Flex.
Tony Pollard rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in the Titans' 24-17 loss to the Bears on Sunday. He also caught three of four targets for 12 yards through the air.
Fantasy Impact
Pollard absolutely dominated the running back touches for Tennessee, out touching Tyjae Spears 19 to 8 and nearly tripling Spears' yards from scrimmage. It could be that the Titans were favoring the hot hand of Pollard, but right now there is no doubt that Pollard is the much more attractive fantasy option in Tennessee.
Tony Pollard is expected to see about a '50-50' split with Tyjae Spears in Tennessee's backfield.
Fantasy Impact
The Titans spent big money to get Pollard in free agency this year, but they have no plans to make him their workhorse running back. OC Nick Holz noted that the team expects them to be about '50-50' in their snap counts, which hurts the upside of both players. Fantasy managers should continue to hold onto the veteran for at least the first couple of weeks to see what his workload looks like in Tennessee's backfield.
