RB - DAL
Week 3 Outlook
Cowboys running back Tony Pollard rushed two times for six yards and caught one pass for three yards in Sunday's win over the Falcons.
Even with the Dallas offense putting up 40 points on Sunday, Pollard was mostly invisible. His value in fantasy is as the handcuff to Ezekiel Elliott and nothing more, for the time being.
Cowboys running back Tony Pollard rushed two times for 10 yards and caught two of his three targets for 22 yards in Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Pollard's role in the offense will always be minimal as long as Ezekiel Elliott is healthy and seeing his usual workload. He is a popular handcuff to Elliott in fantasy but has little other value for the time being.
Todd Archer of ESPN believes Tony Pollard might see snaps at receiver this season.
Pollard, a rookie in 2019, showed a lot of potential playing behind Ezekiel Elliott. He rushed for 455 yards and three scores while also hauling in 15 passes for 107 receiving yards. Pollard was utilized as a receiver while at Memphis and would obviously benefit from a larger role in the passing game this year. Additionally, as Zeke's direct backup, he is arguably the most valuable handcuff in fantasy football.
Cowboys running back Tony Pollard rushed 12 times for 131 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 12 yards in Sunday's win over the Rams.
Pollard is typically the backup to Ezekiel Elliott and doesn't see a ton of work behind a workhorse like Elliott, but the Cowboys ran the ball early and often with much success on Sunday, so Pollard saw his share of touches.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said that running back Tony Pollard "should be able to play" in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams.
After sitting out Week 14's contest with an ankle injury against the Bears Thursday night, Pollard is expected to suit up for a crucial match-up against the Rams in Week 15. This will affect starting running back Ezekiel Elliott's usage a little bit, but nothing too serious from hurting his fantasy value at all. Pollard will just add an extra dimension to Dallas' rushing attack like he has throughout the year at times.
