2024 Outlook
Tra Carson (hamstring) was placed on the injured reserve Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Carson was added to the injury report Thursday with a hamstring injury, the Lions ultimately decided to place him on the injured reserve. The significance of the hamstring injury is unclear, but it was serious enough to be placed on the IR. Paul Perkins was placed on the active roster in a corresponding move. With Carson out for the season, look for J.D. McKissic and Ty Johnson to lead Detroit’s backfield Week 9.
Tra Carson rushed 12 times for 34 yards in the Lions’ 31-26 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
It was Carson and not Ty Johnson who got the bulk of the carries out of the Lions’ backfield Sunday. Carson – the former Packer – out-carried Johnson 12-7 despite Johnson getting the start. It’s just one game post-Kerryon Johnson injury, but it looks like the Lions will opt to use an RBBC – one that will perplex fantasy owners on a weekly basis.
Tra Carson rushed six times for 14 yards, adding four receptions for 18 yards in the Packers’ 34-24 win over the Cowboys on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Carson got 10 touches in the win, seeing extended work behind Aaron Jones with Jamaal Williams out. He’s not on the fantasy radar outside of deeper leagues, and he’ll lose all value when Williams returns.
Tra Carson rushed six times for 25 yards and added a 14-yard reception in the Packers’ win over the Chiefs in Thursday’s preseason finale.
Fantasy Impact
Carson had another modestly successful preseason game Thursday. The second-year back from Texas A&M does not have a roster spot guaranteed ahead of Saturday's cuts.
Tra Carson rushed nine times for 32 yards and a TD, adding one reception for 11 yards on two targets in the Packers' loss to the Raiders on Thursday.
Fantasy Impact
Carson hit paydirt Thursday, scoring a TD and leading the Packers' backfield in rush yards. With Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams both out, Carson got to show what he can do as he pushes to be included in the final 53-man roster.
