Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said Travis Hunter is “very well ahead of where he’s supposed to be” in his recovery from knee surgery.
Fantasy Impact
Hunter underwent surgery to repair the LCL in his right knee after suffering a non-contact knee injury in practice last season. He'll need to continue to be monitored as the offseason progresses. It remains unclear what his overall role will be heading into next season.
Travis Hunter is expected to play on both sides of the ball in 2026, according to Jaguars GM James Gladstone.
Fantasy Impact
Hunter was already playing on both sides of the ball in 2025, but the expectation is that he will be playing more defense in 2026 due to the current situation in the receiver room. The Jaguars traded for Jakobi Meyers then handed him a multi-year contract, Parker Washington emerged as a reliable option, and Brian Thomas Jr. is still hanging around with his potential to have a big year as well. Hunter was just starting to break out at receiver before going down to injury, so this is a tough break for his potential fantasy value. He should still be a good situational receiver, but his upside could be limited by playing time.
Travis Hunter underwent season-ending knee surgery and will miss the rest of this season.
Fantasy Impact
It was an LCL repair for Hunter. He’s expected to return within six months to full football activities. Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers should continue to see more involvement until Brian Thomas is healthy in the passing game for Jacksonville.
Adam Schefter reported that initial testing shows Travis Hunter’s ACL is intact.
Fantasy Impact
Hunter landed on injured reserve Friday morning. It is unclear as of now if he will be able to return this season.

After losing back-to-back games going into their bye week, the Jaguars were looking to reassert themselves against the Raiders this Sunday. Well, they will have to do it without this year's No. 2 pick. Hunter reportedly injured his knee in practice Thursday and will miss at least the next four games. Given Hunter's abilities on both offense and defense, this a big blow for the Jaguars. Expect Dyami Brown and Parker Washington to potentially see more targets in the passing game.
