Tristan Wirfs
OT - TB
2022 Outlook
According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, Tristan Wirfs is headed for ankle surgery this offseason.
Fantasy Impact
Wirfs played last Sunday during a playoff game against the Eagles where he further injured his ankle. He torn several ligaments in his ankle and failed to recover in time for Sunday's game with the Rams. With the season now finished, Wirfs will get the surgery and should be in healthy in time for the 2022 season.
Tristan Wirfs is declared out for the matchup against the LA Rams.
Fantasy Impact
This is a tough blow for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an already banged up offense, Josh Wells is expected to start in Wirfs place.
Per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, OL Tristan Wirfs (ankle) did not practice on Thursday for the Bucs.
Fantasy Impact
Considering that Wirfs is arguably the top offensive linemen for the Bucs this is definitely an injury worth keeping an eye on especially as Tampa get ready to face a very potent LA Rams defensive line. More than likely Wirfs' status will become more clear come Friday if he is able to practice then.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers right tackle Tristan Wirfs missed Wednesday's walkthrough due to an ankle injury.
Fantasy Impact
Wirfs was hurt during the Wild Card matchup against the Eagles and reportedly would have missed practice today if the Buccaneers held an actual session. He still has two more days to return to the practice field, but his injury is a major concern for an offensive line that will have to deal with one of the more intimidating defensive fronts in football. Wirfs, if inactive, would be a major loss for both the pass and run games for Tampa Bay.
Buccaneers offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs (ankle) will not return and is out for the remainder of Tampa Bay’s NFC wildcard game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy Impact
Wirfs seemed to be injured in the first quarter for the Bucs on Sunday when he was rolled up on. He did attempt to return, but clearly could not continues and was removed for the game. If Wirfs misses time, it would be a big blow to an offensive line tasked with protecting future hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady as Tampa Bay attempts to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
