Goodson saw 11 carries on the day due to the fact that Zack Moss left the game early with an arm injury, and he did very well with the work that we was given. He was averaging 6.3 yards gained per carry, and he was able to hold his own after being unexpectedly thrust into the bigger role. He might not get much work for the rest of the season, but a performance like this will put him on the radar to compete for a depth job in camp next year.

Goodson had a promising preseason with Green Bay, tallying 167 scrimmage yards in three preseason contests. The Packers are interested in bring him back to the practice squad if he goes unclaimed.

Tyler Goodson got the start at running back with Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon sitting out the preseason opener against the 49ers on Friday. Goodson had 12 carries for 37 yards on the ground and caught two balls on three targets for 24 yards.

Goodson is battling for the third spot on the depth chart behind Jones and Dillon. While he got the first shot on Friday, other backs in the mix like Dexter Williams, Patrick Taylor, and BJ Baylor also got some playing time. None of these backs will be worth fantasy consideration unless either Jones or Dillion misses time.
