Tyler Kroft suffers broken foot on first day of OTAs

Tyler Kroft suffered a broken foot on the first day of OTAs on Monday.

Fantasy Impact

It's a tough way to start kick off the season. Kroft will need to undergo surgery and there's currently no timetable for a return. The 26-year-old signed a three-year deal with Buffalo this off-season but his Week 1 availability is now up in the air.

Tyler Kroft signs with Bills

The Bills have signed TE Tyler Kroft to a three-year deal that is reportedly worth $18.75 million.

Fantasy Impact

After the release of Charles Clay, Jason Croom is the only other TE on the roster, so it could be Kroft as the starter if the team doesn't add another player via free agency or the draft. Kroft was taken in the third round by the Bengals, but he's struggled with injuries and a limited role during his time in the league. He's been used primarily as a blocker, but he did show some red-zone prowess in 2017 when he grabbed seven TDs in 16 games.

Tyler Kroft placed on IR

The Bengals have placed TE Tyler Kroft on IR due to his foot injury.

Fantasy Impact

Kroft was hoping to return this season, but that won't happen. With Tyler Eifert already out for the season, Cincinnati will continue to rely on C.J. Uzomah at TE. While he has plenty of opportunity given the injuries, Uzomah hasn't done much in the role.

Tyler Kroft ruled out for Week 6

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Kroft (foot) has been ruled out for the club's Week 6 home tilt versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kroft injured his foot last week against the Dolphins and never returned. His absence will make C.J. Uzomah an interesting streamer.

Fantasy Impact

Kroft has only reeled in four catches for 36 yards this season and has been behind Uzomah on the depth chart. Uzomah is a solid waiver wire add against a Steelers defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends so far in 2018.

Tyler Kroft catches two touchdown passes in Week 17

Tyler Kroft caught six of eight targets for 53 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday against the Ravens.

Fantasy Impact

Kroft obviously had a monster game to finish off his otherwise mediocre 2017 season, though it's unlikely that many, if any, fantasy owners were starting him. He's under contract with the Bengals for one more year, but if Tyler Eifert is healthy, Kroft will have little-to-no value in 2018 if he remains with the Bengals.
