Vernon Hargreaves III
CB - HOU
Houston Texans cornerback Vernon Hargreaves returned to practice on Wednesday.
Hargreaves missed Week 9 with a heel injury but appears set to return to action in Week 10. He is in the midst of one of the stronger seasons of his career, so getting him back on the field will be huge for Romeo Crennel as he attempts to persuade Texans brass that he should be kept on beyond this season.
Recently-acquired cornerback Vernon Hargreaves is inactive for Houston's Week 11 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
With Hargreaves only being claimed off waivers this week, he likely needs a little more time to get acclimated with the team's defensive systems.
Vernon Hargreaves finished Thursday’s nights 20-14 win over the Panthers with 12 total tackles.
It’s hard to ignore when an IDP player racks up 12 tackles in one game. Hargreaves is widely available in most leagues and is worth adding. He now has 15 total tackles, one interception, and a touchdown this season.
Vernon Hargreaves was able to pick off Jimmy Garoppolo and return it for a touchdown during Sunday’s 31-17 loss to the 49ers. Hargreaves also had three total tackles in the game.
Sunday’s interception was Hargreaves’ first in a game since 2016. Hopefully, this is a sign of good things to come for him and the Tampa Bay defense.
According to Rick Stroud, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Vernon Hargreaves "may have a serious shoulder injury and will be examined by Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday." Football fans are no doubt familiar with Dr. James Andrews' name, as it generally means a potentially season-ending injury has occurred. Hargreaves is seeking a second opinion from Dr. Andrews, so chances are that he is going to be in for a potentially lengthy recovery.
Hargreaves was injured late in Week 1 after the Bucs secondary had been lit up by Drew Brees and the Saints. His loss would be a big blow to what shapes up to be one of the worst defensive backfields in football.
