QB - CAR
This Week Outlook
Panthers QB Will Grier completed 1-of-8 passes for four yards and an interception in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Saints.
Grier only completed 1-of-8 passes before leaving the game with his foot injury. It is safe to say that he is not the future of the Carolina quarterback position despite his limited resume, which is atrocious. Look for the Panthers to either draft a quarterback or bring one in via free agency this offseason while moving on from Cam Newton if the price is right.
Panthers QB Will Grier completed 27-of-44 passes for 224 yards and three interceptions in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Colts.
Grier was terrible in his first career NFL start. He made Kyle Allen look good. Still, since the Panthers are in quarterback evaluation mode for the offseason, expect Grier to be under center in Week 17 against the Saints.
The Panthers haven't committed to a starting quarterback for their Week 16 matchup against the Colts. A decision is expected Wednesday.
Kyle Allen continued his slide on Sunday, throwing three more interceptions and struggling in a big way. While there's no guarantee, head coach Perry Fewell at least left the door open for rookie Will Grier to make his first start this week against the Colts. He wouldn't be someone to consider this week for fantasy purposes, but it will be interesting to see him in live action given the questions surrounding veteran Cam Newton.
Panthers backup quarterback Will Grier is not active for the team's Week 2 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. Kyle Allen will serve as Cam Newton's backup.
Grier is third on the depth chart in Carolina, and no Panthers quarterback other than Cam Newton will be relevant this season unless he suffers an injury.
Panthers QB Will Grier completed 11-of-18 passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Thursday night's preseason finale win over the Steelers.
Grier is expected to open the year on the final roster, possibly as Cam Newton's primary backup. The rookie will have no fantasy value as long as Newton is healthy. Kyle Allen and Taylor Heinicke are also in the mix for roster spots as well.
