Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said QBs Will Howard and Mason Rudolph are splitting reps in the Steelers’ offseason program.

Howard and Rudolph are currently leading the Steelers quarterback room with Aaron Rodgers still a free agent. It still seems very possible that Rodgers signs a deal with Pittsburgh at some point this offseason, but Howard and Rudolph will continue to see the reps for now.

Mason Rudolph and Howard are currently the only quarterbacks on the Steelers’ depth chart. If Aaron Rodgers opts for retirement or does not re-sign, Howard will have an opportunity to compete for the starting role.

Howard was selected in the sixth round of this year's draft, but he has been on IR all season to this point due to a hand injury. The rookie QB initially returned to practice back on October 22. Howard could compete with veteran Mason Rudolph for the No. 2 QB role behind Aaron Rodgers.

Will Howard has been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packera.
