This Week Outlook
Giants second-round S Xavier McKinney suffered a broken foot and will undergo surgery on Wednesday afternoon to have it repaired.
This is a big blow to the Giants secondary as they invested a second-round pick on McKinney in April's draft. The Alabama product will now be looking at a 2-3 month timetable for recovery and could potentially miss a significant portion of his rookie season. Next in line for the Giants is Julian Love, a 2019 fourth-round selection.
The New York Giants have selected safety Xavier McKinney with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Giants fill a position of need with one of the best safeties in this draft class in McKinney, who has been compared to Tyrann Mathieu. He has great size and is a multi-dimensional safety who played multiple positions at Alabama. McKinney is a top-notch athlete and can make plays all over the field. He will likely be an immediate starter in the New York secondary.
