Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield had a tough fall from grace in 2025 as the QB17 in fantasy points per game after a wondrous QB4 campaign in 2024. Mayfield dealt with injuries to his receiver room and his offensive line while also struggling with injuries himself. In 2025, Mayfield had a bruised and battered throwing arm while also suffering a sprained MCL/PCL, a bicep tendon strain, and left shoulder issues. Among 38 qualifying quarterbacks, he was 24th in yards per attempt, 35th in adjusted completion rate, 22nd in catchable target rate, and 11th-worst in turnover-worthy throw rate (per Fantasy Points Data). Assuming Mayfield sees better health in 2026, he should enjoy a bounce-back season. Yes, Mike Evans is gone, but Mayfield still has a deep cupboard of skilled receivers to toss to this season. His rushing production over the last two seasons (at least 378 rushing yards each year) has also been a nice bump to his fantasy ceiling and floor. I don't expect that to go away. Mayfield could easily be a top 12 fantasy quarterback in 2026 that you're drafting as a mid-range QB2.

Baker Mayfield was averaging 18.5 PPG Weeks 1-11 (QB10). Got hurt in Week 12. 14.2 PPG to end the season in the last 7 weeks. Mayfield seems like a logical bounce-back candidate in 2026, with better injury luck to Tampa's offensive line and WRs. Even so, use Mayfield's 2025 season as a reason to fade outlier passing TD rates. 7.2% in 2024 was well above his career average (5.0). Posted a 4.8% TD rate in 2025.

This is a crossroads year for Baker Mayfield, who went from QB3 in fantasy points per game in 2024 to QB19 last season. Mayfield's completion percentage fell from 71.4% in 2024 to 63.2% in 2025. He went from 7.9 yards per pass attempt in 2024 to 6.8 yards per attempt in 2025. Injuries may have been at least partly to blame. WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin each missed about half the season. WR Emeka Egbuka started fast, then hurt his hamstring and fell off dramatically. The Buccaneers' offensive line was banged up early in the season. Mayfield himself dealt with a shoulder injury. Mayfield had a good season with Dave Canales as his playcaller in 2023 and an even better season with Liam Coen as his playcaller in 2024. Mayfield had a disappointing 2025 season in tandem with Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard. Now he gets his fourth playcaller in as many seasons, new Buccaneers offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. A bounce-back season for the 31-year-old Mayfield is entirely possible, but we probably shouldn't assume he'll return to his 2023-2024 form.
