Chris Rodriguez Jr.
RB - Washington Commanders
Availability
Since Week 11, Chris Rodgriguez has been Washington's lead back with seven of 11 running back red zone rushing attempts. He has averaged 13.5 touches and 63 total yards. Among 55 qualifying backs, he ranks 37th in explosive run rate and third in yards after contact per attempt. He's a solid touchdown-dependent flex this week. Since Week 9, Minnesota has allowed the 12th-most rushing yards per game, the 12th-highest rushing success rate, the third-highest yards after contact per attempt, and logged the 11th-lowest stuff rate.
Chris Rodriguez spearheaded the Commanders' backfield with 11 carries for 41 yards and 1 TD. He also split work with Jeremy McNichols (6 for 30 yards) and Jacory Croskey-Merritt (4 for 20 yards).
Still, C-Rod looks like the lead of this 3-headed monster. Great schedule upcoming as well for the Commanders RBs. Specifically in the fantasy playoffs, the Giants/Cowboys is very juicy.
Before the Commanders' Week 12 bye, Chris Rodriguez Jr. had taken over as their primary ball-carrier. Although he continues to share touches with Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Jeremy McNichols, Rodriguez is the starter and Washington's main goal-line back. His touchdown run against the Broncos on Sunday night was his third in his last four games. In Week 14, the Commanders take on the quarterback-less Vikings in Week 14. In a rare game that could find the Commanders playing with a lead, Rodriguez and his backfield mates might have plenty of opportunities to come through for fantasy. The Commanders also have favorable running-game matchups on the horizon versus the Giants and the struggling Eagles. If Rodriguez continues to operate as the Commanders' lead back, he'll profile as a solid RB3 in Week 14, with RB2 potential in two great matchups in Weeks 15 and 16.
