Sproles is consistent when getting work but should be the third running back option this season, as a 35-year-old and coming off a knee injury, I don't think we can count on him seeing a big workload on offense.

He's going to be 35 years old this season, so there's plenty of reason to worry about his production, but whenever he's been on the field, he's done a fine job. In the first year of Doug Pederson's offense, he totaled 146 touches for 865 yards and four touchdowns. Many are chasing Jay Ajayi, but he was playing less than 30 snaps per game down the stretch in 2017. Prior to getting hurt, Sproles played 34 and 50 snaps in the first two weeks of 2018. By bringing him back, he'll be part of the gameplan, but he may take on a lesser role with Corey Clement emerging. Sproles remains the only running back to have played more than 43 snaps under Pederson, and he did it four times in 17 games. Rumors from training camp suggest that he looks like the same player he's always been, which would mean he'll make the 53-man roster.

Sproles may be old, but he has been an RB3 or better in 5 of the past 6 years he was healthy including two years ago. The Eagles are saying he will start, and while his workload will clearly be limited, it should be enough to warrant flex starts once the bye weeks and injuries roll in.
