WR - CIN
We saw flashes of what could be a great player in 2019 with Ross, as he racked up 270 yards and three touchdowns over the first two weeks of the season in Zac Taylor's offense. Sure, A.J. Green is back to take a lot of targets but adding Joe Burrow's arm to the offense will help deliver the ball down the field to the speedy Ross. He's not going to be consistent, but we aren't looking for consistency in this range.
Ross hasn't lived up to expectations so far and that's reflected in his ADP this season. However, Ross is in a fantastic situation to produce for fantasy football...as long as he can stay on the field. Joe Burrow is a QB upgrade over Andy Dalton and this offense should have plenty more scoring opportunities than in years past. Ross is a risky pick, but it's going to be hard to find someone with as much upside in the later rounds of your draft.
John Ross's third injury-ravaged season looks like it's finally created a change in Cinci, with Tee Higgins arriving in town and Auden Tate emerging. The Bengals receivers room has suddenly become very crowded and very complicated. It looks like Higgins and Ross may play a split role, with Ross playing the deep threat and Higgins dominating in the end zone. Ross may still emerge if A.J. Green disappears or Tyler Boyd breaks down, we've certainly seen his massive potential in 2019, but it'll take a lot of luck and that makes him nothing more than a late round dart throw, especially in non-PPR.
So the question for me is, can he be an elite deep threat? AJ Green will be back, the targets will be split a lot of ways. He will have to be great to make the most of his deep looks. He has had 7 drops each of the last 2 seasons, and that's on limited targets.
His speed gives him a chance. Not a bad half season split with erratic QB play in 2019.
