Alvin Kamara is banged up. He reinjured his knee last week, but he was able to finish the game. He also popped up on the injury report with a new back issue this week. Kamara had a DNP to open the week. I'll update Kendre Miller's outlook on Friday. He could be the Saints' lead back this week.
With Travis Etienne Jr. placed on injured reserve last week with a hamstring injury, Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller are left to carry the New Orleans backfield. Kamara is not widely available, but Miller is rostered in only 13% of Yahoo leagues.
It's possible Miller could be the more valuable fantasy asset in the coming weeks. Kamara's sagging efficiency numbers suggest that the 31-year-old veteran is slowing down. Miller, a third-round pick out of TCU in 2023, has flashed intriguing potential, but he's been plagued by injuries throughout his tenure with the Saints.
There's little chance of Miller seeing the field on obvious passing downs with Kamara around, but Miller could get significant work on early downs.
Miller faces the Saints tonight, and we should have a better idea of his value after we see how he's used against an Atlanta defense that has been tough on running backs early in the season.
