Boyd has the skills to be a valuable part of a rotation or backfield depth piece in the NFL. He is consistently finding the second level, but is aided by the peculiar scheme that Arkansas runs. He's able to get upfield through misdirection often times and he's operating through wide open lanes. When asked to navigate tight windows in between the tackles, he tends to struggle. This doesn't seem to be due to lack of recognition or processing, but due to average athleticism that doesn't allow him to take advantage of the opening before it closes.Average burst and acceleration for a NFL RB. Won't be able to pull away from defenders at the LOS consistently by the time they read and react and won't be able to break many angles in the open field. Runs with wide feet versus keeping them underneath him and this prevents him from being able to change direction easily. Runs very upright as well, which prevents him from making quick cuts. More of a momentum runner with this style. Willing to lower his shoulder and embrace contact in the open field, but very few examples of him driving defenders backwards.Lacks the top-end speed that will help him separate from defenders at the next level. Most likely going to run outside the 4.5 range at the 40-yard dash. Able to shed some tackles in college, but this is more due to poor tackling technique than a specific talent. Keeps his legs moving, but runs with too high a center of gravity that he can get knocked down pretty easily. Natural pass-catcher out of the backfield and was used frequently in this fashion at Arkansas. Should provide extra value to a NFL team that needs that out of their RBs. Good recognition in pass protection and able to position himself to make a play on the incoming pressure. Doesn't have the size to withstand incoming blitzes on his own, but does enough to get in the way. Overall, Boyd is unlikely to force his way to the top of a NFL depth chart with his skillset and traits. He can certainly be a depth piece and step in when he's needed to, but the path for him to get a significant opportunity in the NFL is minimal.

Arkansas tailback that was building a bit of momentum(statically wise) until his Junior year.
