Fantasy Football Player Notes

2020 PPR Rest of Season Rankings
Michael Thomas Note

Thomas suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 1 against the Bucs, and early word is that he'll be out for several weeks. There's no way around dropping Thomas fairly significantly in your rest-of-season rankings, but he's one of the toughest players in football, so unless you're blown away with an offer, don't sell low. He'll be elite once he returns, which hopefully should be in a few weeks.

Emmanuel Sanders Note

Sanders found the end zone, but otherwise didn't do a ton against the Bucs in Week 1. But with Michael Thomas suffering a high ankle sprain, Sanders should be a riser in your rest-of-season rankings. He doesn't offer the upside that he used to given his age, but he can be used as a reliable WR3 for as long as Thomas is out.

Tre'Quan Smith Note

Smith should be the primary beneficiary of Michael Thomas's high ankle sprain. Fantasy managers have been waiting for years for Smith to become a reliable option and this is his best chance to do so. If he's available on waivers, add him everywhere, but wait to see how the New Orleans offense plays out before starting him immediately.
