TJ Hockenson is the TE23 in fantasy points per game, with a TE1 finish in weekly scoring in Week 1 (TE9). Hockenson has a 16.4% target share with 1.23 YPRR, one red zone target, a 17.6% first-read share, and zero deep targets. Hockenson could be a TE1 this week with the passing target pie consolidated to him and Jordan Addison. Miami has been gashed by tight ends, allowing the most yards per target and second-most fantasy points per opportunity to the position.
T.J. Hockenson gets a Week 4 matchup against a young, inexperienced Miami defense that gave up 4-80-1 to George Kittle on only four targets in Week 2, then yielded 2-59-1 to Travis Kelce on only two targets in Week 3.
The moral of the story: You don't need a lot of targets to do damage against the Dolphins' secondary.
Justin Jefferson sustained an ankle injury Sunday that leaves his Week 3 availability in doubt. His absence would vacate a significant number of targets.
Hockenson is a fine matchup play for Week 4. Go an extra buck if we get word before your waiver-claim deadline that Jefferson is likely out this week.
