Colt Lyerla out indefintely
Rookie free agent Colt Lyerla, who is out indefinitely with a torn medial collateral ligament and a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, was asked if he'd like to return as a fullback rather than a tight end.
This is possibly good news for Packers' fans who were worried the injury would cost the team a top tier athlete. Now he is a candidate for injured reserve and would return next season with a shot to stay with the Packers, possibly as a fullback, This could mean Kuhn's time is near an end but many already suspected this. Colt's athletic prowess is well documented, among other things, so this could work out for the best considering the depth at tight end. Unfortunately he will not see the field this year, so for now he is a ghost in the fantasy realm.
