Overall, a solidly built and strong EDGE defender that could make an instant impact in the NFL. Good explosiveness off the line of scrimmage and plays with a HIGH motor. Great in pursuit and constantly chasing after the ball and making a play. Good bend around the edge, but also has great power for his frame. Long arms and uses them to his advantage constantly. Brings experience standing up or playing with his hand in the dirt out of a 3-point stance. Good speed around the edge. Active eyes in the run game and able to be a factor consistently. Struggles against true power or large OTs, such as Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson at Georgia. However, bullied Florida and BYU's OL routinely. Needs to develop counters when his initial pass rush plan doesn't work out. Great situational pass rusher to begin with that could develop into something greater for a defense. Good player.

Darrell Taylor selected No. 48 by Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks have selected defensive end Darrell Taylor with the No. 48 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft after acquiring the pick from the New York Jets.

Fantasy Impact

The Seahawks traded picks No. 59 and 101 overall to move up to 48 to select the edge rusher out of Tennessee. He’ll join up with Seattle’s first-round selection LB Jordyn Brooks as the Seahawks clearly have a strategy in mind that focuses on the defensive side of the ball. Taylor registered 8.5 sacks last season with the Volunteers and could be Seattle’s insurance policy if they cannot bring back All-Pro DE Jadeveon Clowney. With his ability to get after the passer, Taylor could have some appeal in IDP leagues.
