Franks is a big-bodied QB prospect that is most likely destined for a backup QB role in the NFL. He's accurate in the short passing game, but struggles once the ball travels more than 20 yards in the air. Decent decision-maker due to rarely putting the ball in harm's way, but this was moreso due to the fact that his receivers weren't able to get open against better competition. Instead of throwing the ball to them, he would drop his eyes and try to create on his own. Shows the ability to quickly tick through progressions, but then fails to capitalize on it. Needs to have his internal clock speed up. Average arm strength. Doesn't step into his throws completely and half-arms his throws often, so there's rarely any force behind the ball. Constantly forced to navigate the pocket under duress due to his offensive line. Would show solid capability from time to time, but then also second guesses his choices. By that point, he's being swallowed up by a defender. Has a consistent base that he's throwing from, but does fail to follow through often. When his mechanics are right, he's able to lay a nice touch pass out downfield, but he needs to improve his consistency with this area. Able to improvise well and has good mobility for his size. Throws well on the run. Overall, Franks is a late day-3 player that will need a lot of development before he's ever ready to step onto a NFL field.

Feleipe Franks rushes for 76 yards against Titans on Friday

Atlanta Falcons rookie QB Feleipe Franks completed 2-of-9 passes for 16 passing yards, adding four carries for 76 rushing yards during a 23-3 loss against the Tennessee Titans on Friday.

Fantasy Impact

Franks went undrafted but was impressive with his legs on Friday, including a 52-yard carry on 3rd & 10 backed up near their own end zone. His passing was suspect but his 6'6", 235-pound frame could be used in goal-line and short-yardage personnel under new Falcons head coach, Arthur Smith.
