Quickly forgotten due to a torn ACL right before the NFL Draft, most don't realize that Butt would've likely been picked in the top two rounds had he not suffered that injury. Now with a better quarterback situation, Butt could work his way up the depth chart relatively fast, as Jeff Heuerman isn't someone you should worry about. Keep an eye on the Broncos tight end competition, because there's some production that can be found.

Jake Butt making presence known in red-zone

Second-year tight end Jake Butt has looked fully healed from the ACL injury that cost him his 2017 rookie campaign. Butt has made an impression on Broncos minicamp observers, especially in the red-zone where he's hauled in touchdown grabs from Case Keenum and Paxton Lynch. Head coach Vance Joseph has certainly noticed, saying "I’m very excited. He works so hard and he’s obviously a playmaker. You watch the guy make plays catching the football. He’s a playmaker, so he’s going to be a great addition to our offense.”

Fantasy Impact

The door is certainly wide open for Butt to earn the starting job, as the depth chart is currently topped by Jeff Heuerman, who has all of 18 career NFL receptions. Kyle Rudolph caught eight touchdowns last season with Case Keenum under center, so Butt could carry that June momentum over into the regular season and be an interesting streaming option. Denver's backfield, tight end, and WR3 rotation are all intriguing camp battles to watch in training camp.
