Jeffery Simmons

While watching Simmons' film, my biggest impressions came with how well he held his gaps against the run for a guy who was listed at just 300 pounds. He also has a quick first-step when he times the snap correctly, though it's hit-or-miss with him. He is quick to recognize a screen-play coming and moved to the edge at times, showing off great athleticism. The biggest detractor for Simmons will be his off-the-field issues, as he hit a woman on video back in 2016. He also just tore his ACL while working out for the Combine, so it's likely we see him fall much later than initially expected. He is someone who could go in the first-round, or someone who could go in the third-round.

The Tennessee Titans have selected former Mississippi State DT Jeffery Simmons with the No. 19 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

The Titans decided to take a chance on Simmons based on his incredible talent, despite some red flags. He was videotaped assaulting a woman in 2016, and he tore his ACL in February. Simmons is unlikely to play in 2019, but Tennessee clearly has faith in his longterm value.
