Tryon's an exciting pass-rushing prospect off the edge. He opted out of the 2020 season, but his 2019 tape is impressive. If he's improved at all throughout his time away, he could be an immediate impact player in the NFL. Great frame and size for the position. Strong enough and dense enough to be a full-time pass-rusher, but also has the movability and impressive technique to drop out into coverage as needed. Tremendous hand usage for a prospect that's only played 23 career total games in college. Consistently fighting and working tirelessly to keep his frame clean. Often succeeds with his length too. If he does get engaged with, he has a fantastic counter move to disengage and then enough twitch to turn the corner. Great first step explosiveness. He's too often crashing back inside, which is confusing, but he has the speed to set the edge on any tackle. Tends to get lost in run defense, but is consistently flowing to the ball to attempt to make a play. Will need some refinement to be a solid run defender, but that's not why NFL teams are going to bring him into the building. Competitive player and plays with a high motor. Can finish at getting to the QB. Needs to improve on wrapping up in the open field, but can certainly get home to the QB. Smart player and shows great technique in multiple different areas. Not elite bend around the edge, but has more than enough to threaten NFL OTs in a variety of ways. Overall, Tryon has questions surrounding him due to him sitting out the 2020 season. But if he has been in the gym and working on improving his technique this past year, look out. He has the potential to be a 8+ sack player right out of the gate. Should be a Day 1 pick.
