Eichenberg is a pro-ready prospect that will be able to step in and provide solid protection for a NFL QB right away. He's solid in pass protection and is fluid in his pass sets. Has solid jump out of his stance and he operates with a solid foundation whenever he's engaged with a defender. Good knowledge in the run blocking game and knows how to shield defenders to create open running lanes. Good length for the position. Solid balance and is rarely knocked backwards. Solid frame and carries his weight well. Good hand technique and always working to shed the defenders hands from his frame. Average athlete. More than capable of getting out on lead blocks, but won't be able to pull quickly across the formation or get out in front and keep up with backs on screens. But more than enough for the position. Tough player and constantly engaging in contact and looking to jump in and move the pile. Good anchor ability. Not through his size, but through his technique. Can get him in trouble sometimes with grab and pull moves, but the floor is there for Eichenberg. Eichenberg is unlikely to be at the top of anyone's draft boards for OT this year, but he's a solid prospect that is ready to contribute right away. He might not have a crazy high ceiling, but he's going to step in and provide value almost immediately. Solid OT prospect.

Liam Eichenberg selected No. 42 by Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have selected offensive lineman Liam Eichenberg with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

The Miami Dolphins traded up to select an impressive offensive lineman in Liam Eichenberg. Eichenberg played left tackle for Notre Dame but is likely ticketed for the inside in the pros. The Miami Dolphins get a sturdy guard with good hands and balance who should be able to start for at least the next five to seven years.
