Maurice Hurst falling to Day 3?ESPN's Todd McShay is reporting that there are rumors around the league that defensive tackle Maurice Hurst could fall into Day 3 of the NFL Draft due to medical concerns.
Fantasy Impact
McShay also went on to say that some teams have completely crossed him off their draft board. We often hear things about players right before the draft that are potential smokescreens, but this might have some legitimacy as Hurst was sent home from the NFL Combine due to failing the medical portion of the event. It was said that he had a "heart condition," though he was soon thereafter cleared by both Michigan and Harvard doctors for football activities which was why he participated in Michigan's Pro Day. Should he fall out of the first round or two, it could really shake up the draft. This will surely bump-up the stock of both Vita Vea and Da'Ron Payne, who should be considered the clear No. 1 and No. 2 interior lineman in this class. If Hurst is, in fact, medically okay, some team could get a steal in the middle rounds.
