Overall, a very versatile and athletic defender. He has tremendous range and is able to fly around the football field. He struggles a bit to diagnose the full football field and this could be due to his lack of starting experience. Has trouble overcommitting to run lanes and also determining where exactly a RB is going to end up. Good tackler, but shouldn't be viewed as an all-world talent. Struggles to wrap up defenders occasionally and allow them to pick up additional yardage. Good at navigating through traffic and shedding blocks at the second level. Especially excels at this in one-on-one situations at the LOS. Shows promise as an EDGE rusher. Would love to see more from a toughness and competitive standpoint. Athletic enough to drop back in zone coverage, but still needs to learn the finer nuances of dropping back. Seems to be more lost and making it up as he goes rather than dropping back with purpose and keeping his hips and eyes trained on the QB. Great lateral mobility and athletic enough to jump multiple gaps at the LOS. Tremendous speed and agility. Won't break records at the Combine, but a great athlete for his size with good change of direction ability. Will fit best in a versatile scheme that will allow him plenty of opportunities to go get the QB. Will need development in what he's asked to do as a LB, but certainly can get there. However, shows the chops to be a dangerous force off the edge with bend.

Micah Parsons signs fully guaranteed four-year rookie deal with Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons officially signed his fully guaranteed four-year rookie contract on Wednesday, per Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Impact

Parsons was drafted and is expected to be the replacement for MLB Leighton Vander Esch. Parsons will have the opportunity to play alongside WLB Jaylon Smith to fortify the middle of the Cowboys' defensive unit in 2021. The 6'3, 245-pound linebacker out of Penn State totaled over 100 tackles and five sacks during his sophomore season in 2019 and should be able to upgrade a defense that ranked tenth worst in yards allowed per game.
