Mitchell Schwartz released by Chiefs
As reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter Thursday morning, the Chiefs have released veteran OT Mitchell Schwartz.
The Chiefs have now released both of their starting OTs from 2020's Super Bowl run in succession, cutting both Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher Thursday morning. Schwartz, a three-time Pro Bowler, and first-team All-Pro in 2018, suffered a season-ending back injury that required surgery. Barring his recovery, Schwartz should have plenty of suitors on the free-agent market. The Chiefs save $7M against the cap with his release.
