In somewhat of a surprise, Phil Taylor was released by the Browns Tuesday afternoon. Taylor's salary will still be on the team's books in 2015 as it became guaranteed in March.

Taylor should have no problem catching on with another team, but he simply became expendable with the drafting of Danny Shelton. Taylor represented the last remaining draft pick that came over in the 2011 draft day trade that netted the Falcons Julio Jones.
