View More NotesIn his last game before the bye, Samaje Perine finished with 16 touches, 78 total yards, and a score as Chase Brown's backfield running mate. I'm not willing to declare Perine as a standalone flex play moving forward, as that was the first game of the season where Perine had more than eight touches. In that Week 5 game, Perine played 50.8% of the snaps with 45.2% of the rushing volume, but he had only a 33.3% route share. He did split the red zone work with Brown, as each back had four red zone rushing attempts, but Brown dwarfed him in snap rate (63.2%) inside the 20-yard line. That feels like more noise than signal of Brown's role being in serious jeopardy moving forward. I'm not flexing Perine this week in a matchup that is rough on paper for early down production. Baltimore is allowing the eighth-lowest explosive run rate, the fifth-lowest rushing success rate, and the 11th-lowest missed tackle rate.

Fantasy Impact
Perine had a good game on Sunday. He was Cincinnati's leading rusher against the Dolphins and actually saw more overall carries than Chase Brown, who usually acts as the team's RB1. The veteran could be relevant moving forward if he can continue to accumulate significant touches on this offense moving forward.
