OG - MIN
Week 7 Outlook
Expert NoteView More Notes
Davis is a scheme versatile offensive lineman that can work in either a gap power scheme or outside zone. He has enough athleticism and movability to work laterally and he has enough size to be able to anchor and take on single blocking. Has good pop out of his stance is able to attack well and strike with his hands. Able to climb to the second level well. Good hand usage, but needs to improve on consistency and finding the proper placement snap after snap. Needs to improve on his ability to scan the field and recognize pressure. Stayed with his assignment out far a couple of times and let some blitzers come in on his QB. Could be a miscommunication among the other offensive lineman, but could be an issue in the NFL if pressure is sent from various places. Overall, a solid prospect that's not the most flashy, but should be a quality starter in the NFL.

Wyatt Davis selected No. 86 by Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings have selected guard Wyatt Davis with the No. 86 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Already a strong run blocker, Davis should have a long career on the interior of the offensive line in Minnesota. Davis is an early Day 2 talent, but recurring knee issues hurt his draft stock. Ferocious at the point of attack, Davis is starter ready when healthy. The Vikings got a steal.
