| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Ja'Marr Chase remains firmly atop the conversation for the overall WR1 in fantasy football after another dominant season in 2025. The Bengals superstar commanded over a 30% target share while averaging 88.3 receiving yards per game and ranking among the league leaders in red-zone usage. Attached to a healthy Joe Burrow, Chase continues to combine elite volume, explosive playmaking, and touchdown upside in one of the NFL's premier passing offenses. Barring injury, he offers one of the safest and highest ceilings at the position entering 2026. | Bucky Irving had a sophomore season to forget. He was limited to 10 games because of injury - and he was wildly inefficient. He posted the 4th-lowest rushing success rate, finishing third-worst in YPC (3.4). The second-year RB scored one rushing TD in 2025. Even with Rachaad White all but gone in free agency, Todd Bowles' other favorite RB, Sean Tucker, might continue to rear his ugly head again near the goal line in 2026. Not to mention, Kenneth Gainwell will also be vying for targets after signing with TB in free agency. Irving probably wasn't the same guy returning from injury as the first four weeks of the season; he was extremely productive, averaging 15.6 PPG. But after his return, he just had 10.2 PPG playing in a broken Bucs' offense. |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | Ja'Marr Chase had another stellar season last year. He was the WR3 in fantasy points per game while finishing sixth in red zone targets and 18th in deep targets (tied). Again this season, Chase will lead an offense that will live and die by their passing game. Last year, Cincy was third in neutral passing rate and fifth in red zone passing rate. I don't see either of those numbers changing much in 2026 with Joe Burrow back under center. Last year, Chase remained a volume and efficiency monster, ranking third in target share (30.2%) and receiving yards per game (88.3), 18th in yards per route run (2.30), 14th in first downs per route run (0.119), and third in first-read share (40.3%, per Fantasy Points Data). Among 109 qualifying receivers, he was ninth in separation score and 23rd in route win rate. Chase has WR1 overall upside again this season. | Bucky Irving has dealt with a number of injuries in his short career with a foot sprain and a shoulder/ AC joint sprain last year. Rewinding to 2024, he also dealt with hip, back, toe, and hamstring issues. When he was on the field last year, he averaged 20.3 touches and 86.5 total yards as the RB17 in fantasy points per game. His efficiency suffered massively from the injuries last year after being a wonderous per-touch monster in 2024. Last year, among 49 qualifying backs, he was 43rd in explosive run rate, 35th in missed tackle rate, and 46th in yards after contact per attempt (per Fantasy Points Data). Those dips are explainable, but they are still concerning for a back that is on the smaller side and has been banged up quite often over the last two seasons. Yes, Rachaad White is gone, but Irving will still have to contend with Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker this season on early downs and in the passing game. Irving could be a nice bounce-back candidate in 2026 or a massive disappointment that loses work to Gainwell and Tucker all year. I'll buy the dip if he slips in some drafts, but I won't go out of my way to draft him this season. |
