| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Jaxon Smith-Njigba fully arrived in 2025, finishing as the WR2 overall after leading the NFL in target share and nearly carrying the entire Seahawks passing attack. The 24-year-old posted elite efficiency metrics alongside massive volume, turning 163 targets into nearly 1,800 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Seattle rewarded JSN with a massive extension after his monster campaign, cementing him as the franchise's centerpiece offensively. Although the loss of OC Klint Kubiak and added target competition from Rashid Shaheed could slightly reduce his outrageous usage, Smith-Njigba still projects as one of fantasy football's elite WR1 options entering 2026. | Bucky Irving had a sophomore season to forget. He was limited to 10 games because of injury - and he was wildly inefficient. He posted the 4th-lowest rushing success rate, finishing third-worst in YPC (3.4). The second-year RB scored one rushing TD in 2025. Even with Rachaad White all but gone in free agency, Todd Bowles' other favorite RB, Sean Tucker, might continue to rear his ugly head again near the goal line in 2026. Not to mention, Kenneth Gainwell will also be vying for targets after signing with TB in free agency. Irving probably wasn't the same guy returning from injury as the first four weeks of the season; he was extremely productive, averaging 15.6 PPG. But after his return, he just had 10.2 PPG playing in a broken Bucs' offense. |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | Last year, Jaxon Smith-Njigba stepped up and put up what might be a career-best season for him when it's all said and done. I'm not saying that he will definitively fall off, but replicating his 2025 season will be tough no matter how you slice it. Last year, he posted the seventh-most receiving yards ever in a single season (1,793) and 119 receptions as the WR2 in fantasy points per game. He had 44.1% of Seattle's receiving yards, which was easily the highest mark in the NFL among receivers by a staggering 6.2%. The next closest was Puka Nacua with 37.9%. Smith-Njigba didn't have any new faces added to this Seattle passing attack in the offseason to threaten his usage at all, and he still has Sam Darnold under center, but we'll have to see how much losing Klint Kubiak impacts this offense. That loss won't tank his season, but it's a concern that has to be brought up. Last year, Smith-Njigba ranked first in target share (32.6%), second in receiving yards per game (105.5), second in yards per route run (3.74), and first in first-read share (44.6%, per Fantasy Points Data). Smith-Njigba is a top 3-5 fantasy receiver with an extremely high ceiling and elite floor. | Bucky Irving has dealt with a number of injuries in his short career with a foot sprain and a shoulder/ AC joint sprain last year. Rewinding to 2024, he also dealt with hip, back, toe, and hamstring issues. When he was on the field last year, he averaged 20.3 touches and 86.5 total yards as the RB17 in fantasy points per game. His efficiency suffered massively from the injuries last year after being a wonderous per-touch monster in 2024. Last year, among 49 qualifying backs, he was 43rd in explosive run rate, 35th in missed tackle rate, and 46th in yards after contact per attempt (per Fantasy Points Data). Those dips are explainable, but they are still concerning for a back that is on the smaller side and has been banged up quite often over the last two seasons. Yes, Rachaad White is gone, but Irving will still have to contend with Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker this season on early downs and in the passing game. Irving could be a nice bounce-back candidate in 2026 or a massive disappointment that loses work to Gainwell and Tucker all year. I'll buy the dip if he slips in some drafts, but I won't go out of my way to draft him this season. |
