View More NotesIt has been impossible to talk about Jaxon Smith-Njigba this offseason without mentioning the work "regression." That's because when you are coming off of a season like JSN's 2025 campaign, there is little room for improvement. Leading the league in receiving yards with nearly 1,800 and carrying their offense to a Super Bowl Championship is hard to replicate. It's especially hard to replicate after the team lost their offensive coordinator and let their top RB walk in free agency. They are also opening their season with a Super Bowl rematch against a Patriots team that hasn't forgotten their abysmal performance from last year. This should be a great NFL game; however, fantasy points may be hard to come by.

Fantasy Impact
On Wednesday, Smith-Njigba picked up right where he left off last season, exploding for 122 yards and a touchdown in a big win over the Patriots. He did that with Drew Lock throwing him passes after starter Sam Darnold went down with a hip injury earlier in the game. Fantasy managers should be happy with his performance in this matchup but should keep a close eye on the health of Darnold, as the young wideout's week-to-week ceiling will certainly take a hit if their starting QB misses significant time.
