| Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | Travis Kelce will turn 37 in October, but he's committed to playing at least one more season for the Chiefs. Kelce finished TE3 in fantasy scoring last season, catching 76 passes for 851 yards and five touchdowns. But the longtime fantasy star's efficiency has been plummeting. Kelce has averaged 8.6 yards per target for his career, but he's averaged just 6.9 YPT over the last two seasons. Kelce has averaged 2.05 yards per route run for his career, but he's been just under 1.50 YPRR each of the last two seasons. The Chiefs didn't add any significant pass catchers in the offseason, so Kelce still figures to be a prominent target earner in Andy Reid's offense. It's just a matter of how much he can do with those targets. The good news is that Kelce has become a budget option at the position and will probably be available in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts. | |
| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | De'Zhaun Stribling received the draft capital boost fantasy managers crave, but his profile still carries more risk than his post-draft hype suggests. The 49ers clearly believe in the former Ole Miss receiver, yet concerns remain about his age, production profile, target-earning ability, and path to immediate volume in a crowded offense. Stribling's ADP has climbed rapidly because of landing spot and draft capital, but those factors alone do not guarantee fantasy success. He remains a worthwhile swing if he falls in rookie drafts, though expectations should be tempered for immediate production. | |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | At this point in his career, we know what to expect out of Travis Kelce. He's a low-end TE1, and that's fine, but I don't see a path for him returning to top 3-5 status for 2026. Over the last two years, he has been the TE9 and TE7 in fantasy points per game. Yes, the Chiefs will remain a pass-first offense, but it's fair to question when we'll see Patrick Mahomes play in 2026 and what version of him will be under center. Mahomes is coming off a torn ACL, and that cast of pass-catching characters at his disposal didn't change a ton this offseason, which isn't great. Travis Kelce's per-route efficiency screams that he's on the back nine of his career. Last year, among 59 qualifying tight ends, Kelce was 19th in yards per route run, 18th in yards after the catch per reception, and 16th in first downs per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). Those aren't damning numbers, but they aren't anything more than solid and just illuminate the point again that Kelce doesn't have the juice to put up elite per-route metrics anymore to vault him back into the top 3-5 conversation. Kelce will likely post another solid season as a low-end TE1 in 2026. | De'Zhaun Stribling has been zooming up draft boards and ADP since the news of Ricky Pearsall's recurring PCL issues. Many could pump the brakes on that now that San Francisco brought back Deebo Samuel on a one-year deal, but I'll still be drafting Stribling at cost. Christian Kirk (calf) is also dealing with an injury to open camp. At this point in Kirk's career, he can't be counted on to stay healthy or be an effective weekly cog of an NFL passing attack. Stribling had a solid collegiate career, with his skill set fitting what the 49ers want from their receivers. During his final two collegiate seasons, he posted 2.15 and 2.44 yards per route run with 7.3 and 6.7 yards after the catch per reception (17 missed tackles forced across both seasons, per PFF). Stribling offers the 49ers a varied skill set with shades of what they have hoped to get from Pearsall. He can make players miss in space, outrun them with the ball in his hands (4.36 40-yard dash), and create yards after the catch. Stribling is a great late-round selection in fantasy football drafts in 2026. |
