| Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | George Kittle tore his right Achilles in the 49ers' Wild Card win over the Eagles on Jan. 11. Kittle says his goal is to play in the 49ers' 2026 season opener against the Rams in Australia, defying the typical recovery timeline for an Achilles tear. It's possible the 32-year-old Kittle misses time early in the season, and it's possible he won't offer the usual Kittle-level production upon his return. But there will be an injury discount on Kittle in 2026 fantasy drafts, and the possibility that he's back to peak form in time for the fantasy playoffs is appealing. Over the last four seasons, Kittle has averaged 4.6 catches, 63.4 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game. Kittle has been remarkably efficient over his career, averaging 10.0 yards per catch and 2.27 yards per target - better career numbers than superstar WR Ja'Marr Chase in both categories. | |
| Derek Brown FantasyPros | George Kittle had a battered and bruised 2025 season with a hamstring injury that cost him seven games, then an ankle injury, and finally an Achilles tear in the postseason. We'll have to see when Kittle is back on the field for the 49ers in 2026 and looking like his usual tackle-breaking self. I'm hopeful that Kittle makes a wonderful recovery and beats the timelines, but I also won't be shocked if San Francisco holds him back by starting him out on the PUP to begin the season and eases him in after that. When Kittle was on the field last year, he didn't show any signs of slowing down. Among 54 qualifying tight ends, he ranked fourth in target share (20%) and yards per route run (2.30), third in receiving yards per game (57.1) and first-read share (24.3%), and second in first downs per route run (0.139, per Fantasy Points Data). Kittle is a nice upside swing at tight end this year. He could be a player that puts fantasy teams over the top down the stretch if he can regain his usual form. If you're drafting Kittle, I'd pair him with another late tight end like Dallas Goedert or Isaiah Likely that could return strong TE1 production at least to open the 2026 season until Kittle is ready to rock. | We should always be looking to take swings on talented second-year wide receivers for fantasy football, and Jayden Higgins fits the bill as a possible late-round breakout candidate for 2026. Last year, in Weeks 8-18, Higgins had seven finishes as a WR3 or better in weekly scoring. During that stretch, Higgins, among 119 qualifying receivers, also ranked 24th in target per route run rate (24%) and 38th in first downs per route run (per Fantasy Points Data). During those 11 games, among the same group of 119 receivers, Higgins was also 28th in yards per route run and 25th in route win rate as a perimeter receiver. If C.J. Stroud can at least be a league-average passer in 2026, Higgins could be a weekly WR2/3 or flex option. He also has contingent upside if Nico Collins misses any time. |
| Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Jayden Higgins had a quiet rookie season statistically, but the Texans' second-round pick showed encouraging flashes once his role expanded late in the year. Higgins started earning more playing time after Week 10 and proved capable of stepping up whenever Nico Collins missed time, flashing both touchdown upside and starter-level usage. Entering Year 2, Higgins is positioned as Houston's full-time No. 2 receiver with clear contingent upside if Collins were ever sidelined. He's an appealing late-round depth target in deeper fantasy formats, especially given the coaching staff's confidence in his long-term potential. | |
