Jakub Dobes suffers first career regulation loss
by Bruno Mulé | Canadiens Correspondent | Fri, Jan 31st 10:12am EST
Jakub Dobes allowed three goals on 26 shots in Thursday’s 4-0 loss to the Wild, marking his first regulation defeat in seven NHL starts. The rookie netminder didn’t get much help from his teammates, as defensive lapses led to high-danger chances, including a two-on-one rush that resulted in Marco Rossi’s tally.
Fantasy Impact:
Dobes has been a promising story since joining the Canadiens in late December, but the recent stretch has been rough. He’s surrendered 11 goals over his last three starts while dropping back-to-back games. Despite the downturn, he still holds value in deeper formats, though Montreal’s defensive inconsistencies could limit his upside. With two days off before the Canadiens start a road trip in Anaheim on Sunday, it remains to be seen if Dobes or Sam Montembeault will get the next start.
