Cole Caufield assisted on the Montreal Canadiens' lone goal in Thursday night's loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Caufield only attempted one shot on net.

Fantasy Impact: Caufield has been somewhat disappointing from a fantasy standpoint this season, although he has seemed to pick it up as of late with three of his four total points coming in his last five games. Hopefully Caufield can turn it around soon. Until then, he can't be trusted in most leagues.

Joel Armia assisted on the Montreal Canadiens' lone Thursday night against the Colorado Avalanche. He only contributed a single hit in addition to the assist.

Fantasy Impact: Armia has been quiet all year, and hasn't been fantasy relevant since his 2019-2020 season where he scored 30 points in 58 games. His five points this season is not enough to consider rostering him in most fantasy leagues.

Ben Chiarot found the back of the net in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the visiting Colorado Avalanche. He finished the game with one point, a minus-1 rating, two shots and two blocks.

Fantasy Impact: The Canadiens were pressuring while on the power play and Chiarot unleashed a laser beam of a wrist shot that beat Jonas Johansson. It was the only goal they would score on the evening. He's up to five goals and six points but produces very nicely in hits and blocks with PIM upside if you need a streamer.

Fantasy Impact: Suzuki now has 15 points in 21 games and has been a bright spot for Montreal. This was his first point in his last five games, but is still worth a look if you need depth on your roster.

By Jason Yamaguchi

After missing the past six games due to a head injury, Jonathan Drouin will return to the Montreal Canadiens’ lineup for Tuesday’s game against the New York Rangers.

Fantasy Impact: Drouin was off to a good start for the 2021-22 campaign, posting two goals and five assist for a total of seven points in 11 games. He should immediately look to help turn the season around for the Canadiens, who are off to a much slower start than anticipated.

Fantasy Impact: Petry has had an abysmal season so far. Only recording two points in 17 games. At this point Petry cannot be trusted in any lineup or even on a roster. He has a long way to go in order to live up the the pre-season ECR and ADP.

Fantasy Impact: Price is going to need at least two to three weeks of practice to get back into game shape, but if he's still available in your league, now might be a good time to pick him up.

Jonathan Drouin has been moved to center on the 2nd line with Mike Hoffman on the left and Josh Anderson on the right. (Source:

Fantasy Impact: With Drouin's pass first mentality and Hoffman's shooting abilities, this new partnership could pay off for both Hoffman and Drouin.

Phillip Danault was able to pick up two assists in Tuesday night's loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Fantasy Impact: Tonight's game was a big one for Danault, who has struggled somewhat this season. With the multi-point effort, he now has eight assists in 18 games but has yet to score a goal. He will look to change that on Thursday night when he and the Habs take on the Winnipeg Jets.

Shea Weber recorded a two goal night in Tuesday night's 5-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Fantasy Impact: Tuesday night's 5-4 shootout loss certainly can't be blamed on Weber, who scored two and was also a +3. The 35-year-old is still a very capable fantasy defenceman with nine points in 18 games this season.

Corey Perry was able to score his second goal of the season in Sunday night's 3-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Fantasy Impact: While Perry certainly isn't the player he once was, he has been a solid secondary contributor for the Habs when in the lineup. Through 10 games played the 35-year-old has two goals and four points.

Alexander Romanov had an assist on a late third period goal scored by Tomas Tatar.

Fantasy Impact: The assist was just the second of Romanov’s 12 game NHL career. It has been a bit of an up and down rookie season for the 21-year-old, but his talent level is clear and he has the potential to be top tier defenceman in the future.
