Lane Hutson has agreed to an eight-year, $70.8 million contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens according to Chris Johnston. (Chris Johnston on Twitter )

Hutson’s extension will keep the second-year defenseman in Montreal long-term after an impressive rookie campaign in which he posted 66 points (six goals, 60 assists) over 82 games, winning the Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie in the process.
