Anthony Mantha was a healthy scratch during the Red Wings 4-1 win versus Florida.
Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill apparently had enough of Mantha's inconsistent play and held him out of the lineup against the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Mantha did score in three consecutive games prior to going scoreless Friday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 12 games this season Mantha has four goals and three assists with a team-worst minus-eight rating.
Anthony Mantha scored his second goal of the season during the Red Wings 3-2 overtime loss to Florida. He also had four shots and two hits in 18:14 minutes of ice time.
After some lackluster play in the previous series with Dallas, Mantha was much more active in this game for the Red Wings. The talent has always been there, the question has always been if he can bring it every night. This season in nine games he has two goals and three assists but has a minus-nine rating with a Detroit team that will struggle all season.

Mantha is an impact power forward in the NHL but his issue has always been staying healthy. The last full season he was able to play was in 2017-18 when he was able to play 80 games. Last season in just 43 games he scored 16 goals and had 22 assists.
Anthony Mantha registered four points in the Red Wings’ 5-4 shootout victory over the Lightning on Sunday. He was a plus three with one goal, three assists, one PPG and three SOG In 20:14 of ice-time. Mantha now has 16 goals and 21 assists in 42 games played.
Mantha has put up great numbers when healthy this season. He was clearly missed by an abysmal Red Wings team. Mantha should be locked into lineups if he is on the ice rest of season.
Anthony Mantha scored the lone Red Wings’ goal in their 2-1 loss to the Avalanche on Monday. He was a plus one with one goal on six SOG in 22:24 of ice-time. Mantha has 15 goals and 18 assists in 40 games played.
Mantha has put up a good points per game pace but missing more than 20 games has hurt his bottom line. He is a must start to finish off the season because he is clearly one of the best players on the team and the ice-time shows it.
