Garret Sparks had 34 saves in Toronto's 6-0 home win over Philadelphia Saturday night.

Fantasy Impact: It was the second straight win for Sparks, whose playing time is very limited behind Leafs star goalie Frederik Anderson. He has little fantasy value outside of the occasional spot-start.

Garret Sparks stoped 38 of 39 shots in the Leafs 2-1 overtime victory in Anaheim Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: It was a nice rebound for Sparks filling in for the white hot Frederik Andersen. Sparks last gave up five goals in a loss at Boston last Saturday. He has little or no fantasy value, however.

Garret Sparks stopped 33 of 34 shots in the Maple Leafs 4-1 win at home against the Los Angeles Kings Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: Sparks was an emergency fill in for Leafs starting net minder Frederik Andersen, who was scratched only a few hours from puck drop with a lower body injury. While his GAA leaves something to be desired, Sparks is worthy of consideration for spot starts, particularly for wins behind the Leafs uber-talented offense.

Garret Sparks allowed 6 goals on 31 shot attempts in Toronto's 7-6 overtime win in Chicago Sunday night.

Fantasy Impact: Sparks was awful in his season debut, a return to his native Chicago. These nights can happen to any goalie, but given his lack of NHL experience and age, the learning curve for Sparks might be steep in the early going.

Fantasy Impact: Sparks is coming of a brilliant season with the AHL Toronto Marlies. With Leafs netminder Frederik Andersen off to a bit of a rough start, Sparks is worthy of fantasy consideration —if only a spot start — depending on your backup goalie situation.

Fantasy Impact: Sparks, well, sparkled in 2017-18 with a 1.79 GAA and .936 save percentage in 43 AHL games for the Toronto Marlies. It's a bit overambitious to draft him, but fantasy players should certainly monitor him on the waiver wire in the early part of the season as a spot-starter in favorable matchups.

Garret Sparks stopped all 24 Oilers shots to win 3-0 in his NHL debut Monday night for the Maple Leafs, earning the First Star of the game.

Fantasy Impact: It was an emotional start to Sparks' career, as the 22-year old was moved to tears in his post-game interview when he was told he was the only Maple Leafs goalie to record shutout in his NHL debut. Sparks was called up to Toronto to replace the injured James Reimer.
