Joel Edmundson traded to Carolina

Joel Edmundson was traded to Carolina along with prospect Dominik Bokk in exchange for Justin Faulk. Faulk would then sign a seven-year extension worth $45.5 million.

Fantasy Impact

Faulk is one of the better goal-scoring defensemen in the NHL. He has six straight seasons of 30+ points but only one (2014-15 with 49). Faulk is not currently on the top-level of fantasy defensemen but he is a good option who should be owned in the vast majority of leagues.

Joel Edmundson with a raise in arbitration

Joel Edmundson was awarded $3.1 million in arbitration after a solid season. He was called an important part of the Blue's defensive plan going into the season.

Fantasy Impact

Edmundson followed an 11 point regular season with seven points in the playoffs. His career pace of a point per five games does not suggest much of a fantasy value except in deep leagues.

Joel Edmundson scores in his first game of the season

Joel Edmundson scored a goal in the Blues 5-3 victory over the Flames on Thursday. He was a plus two with two PIM and a SOG.

Fantasy Impact

Today was a good showing for Edmundson after being on the shelf in the first two games with a groin injury. That does not change the fact that Edmundson is not a fantasy viable player.

Joel Edmundson with an assist Wednesday versus the Flyers

Edmundson recorded an assist on the eventual game winning goal in a 6-3 victory.

Fantasy Impact

He barely has more than a full season worth of games and his numbers are still not worthy of most leagues yet,
