Lawrence Pilut gets assist in Sabres win

Lawrence Pilut got an assist on Johan Larsson’s 3rd period goal in the Sabres 4-3 overtime win over the Kings on Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact

Lawrence Pilut has 2 assists through 5 games so far in his NHL career. Pilut has displayed offensive ability in every league he has played in so far. Pilut is getting second power play duty to boot so he should get more scoring opportunities. Pilut is a sneaky add in deeper or keeper fantasy leagues.

Lawrence Pilut gets first career point in Sabres loss

Lawrence Pilut got his first career point on his assist on Jack Eichel’s goal in the first period of the Sabres 6-2 loss to the Flyers on Saturday afternoon.

Fantasy Impact

Lawrence Pilut is a rookie defenseman for the Sabres out of Sweden. The 22-year old Pilut is coming off a 38 point season in the Swedish Elite league for HV71 and has scored 22 points in 19 games in the AHL this season. It looks like the Sabres have a pair of rookie defensemen from Sweden that are both offensive-minded. Rasmus Dahlin has gotten more fanfare and playing time and rightfully so. But, if Pilut can get consistent time and even power play time he could be worth a look in some deeper fantasy leagues.

Lawrence Pilut sent down to Rochester

The Sabres elected to send defenseman Lawrence Pilut to the Americans on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact

Pilut was battling for a roster spot, but apparently didn't do enough. He's a prospect worth holding onto and could be the first one called up if an injury occurs. The move also means that Brendan Guhle has a great chance of making the team. Both are very talented and should be stashed in dynasty leagues.

Lawrence Pilut tallies an assist in victory

Lawrence Pilut earned his first point of the preseason on Tuesday against Pittsburgh.

Fantasy Impact

He played just under 18 minutes in the victory, and will fight for a roster spot this season. It may be tough for him to crack the lineup this year, but he'll be a name to watch very soon either way.
