Liam O'Brien racks up penalty minutes in overtime loss to Penguins
Liam O'Brien picked up five penalty minutes after dropping the gloves with former teammate Bokondji Imama in the first period of Wednesday’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Penguins.
Fantasy Impact
O'Brien continues to bring a physical presence but remains a non-factor offensively. While he's appeared in 10 of Utah’s 13 January games, his ice time has come at the expense of other forwards like Michael Carcone and, in Wednesday’s case, Matias Maccelli. Through 14 games this season, O’Brien has yet to register a point while accumulating 29 PIM, 57 hits, 16 shots, and a minus-1 rating. His value is strictly limited to leagues that heavily reward penalty minutes and physical play, as his offensive contributions remain nonexistent.
