Martin Hanzal to miss start of training camp with ankle injury

Martin Hanzal suffered an ankle injury while skating with teammates and will miss the start of training camp. According to coach Ken Hitchcock the goal is to get him as close to 100 percent for the start of the season.

Fantasy Impact

Last season he posted 20 goals and 19 assists in 71 games played. He finished with a minus-17 rating but most of that damage was with Arizona before he was dealt to Minnesota. Hanzal when he returns to action could be a nice fantasy sleeper playing along with the other offensive talent on the Stars roster.

Martin Hanzal traded to Minnesota

Hanzal Ryan White and a 2017 4th round pick were traded to the Minnesota Wild in exchange for a package of picks and a minor league by the name of Grayson Downing.

Fantasy Impact

Hanzal is the key piece in this deal as Minnesota strengthened their team for a playoff run this season, where they currently lead the Western Conference. This is a move for 2017 as Hanzal is an unrestricted free agent after the season. For that matter, White can also become an unrestricted free agent after the season. Hanzal is a strong player that helps the Wild's chances in the playoffs but the impact on his fantasy value will depend on how quickly he can gel with his new teammates.
