Peter Budaj allows one goal in relief Saturday versus Ottawa

Peter Budaj saved 10 of the 11 shots he faced Saturday versus the Senators. He came on in relief with the game 4-0 in favor of the opponent.

Fantasy Impact

Budaj has been on several teams but hasn't been a full-time starter for several years outside of the 2016-17 Kings. He will need to regain at least a reasonable time-share before he will be worth much in fantasy.

Peter Budaj to start on Tuesday

Peter Budaj will start in net for Tampa Bay in their road game against the Devils on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

Budaj will be making his season debut after Andrei Vasilevskiy patrolled the crease in the Bolts' first six games to launch the 2017-18 campaign. The 35-year-old Czech filled in admirably last year in Los Angeles when Jonathan Quick missed a chunk of time with a groin injury, posting 27-20-3 record, 2.12 GAA and.917 SV%.

Peter Budaj traded to Tampa Bay in deal involving Ben Bishop

Budaj, a young defensemen prospect and some picks were traded to the Lightning for Ben Bishop and a 5th round 2017 pick.

Fantasy Impact

Budaj moves from a strong defensive team where he was going to battle for playing time with a returning big time goalie to a strong offensive team who he will be battling with a strong goalie for playing time. As for Bishop, he is a bigger name than Budaj and there is some upside for the Kings in being able to rotate elite proven goalies to help ease Quick back from injury plus they may have felt a little more comfortable having a more proven commodity as the protection in case issues arise with Quick's return.
