Radko Gudas provided fantasy managers with some peripheral stat help on Sunday, helping the Panthers down the Blackhawks 5-2. He didn't tally a point but registered a plus-1 rating, four PIMs, one shot, eight hits and five blocks.
Gudas is not known for his scoring touch so anything in the goals category is a bonus, but he can be well relied upon to show up for hits, blocks and PIM. He's sitting on a league-leading 208 hits and 67 blocks and 59 penalty minutes.
Radko Gudas will be on the shelf for Thursday's game against the L.A. Kings as he joins four of his teammates in the protocol.
You probably won't be missing the scoring that he provides because he doesn't really provide it. He is a good third or fourth fantasy defenseman due to his grit and can be counted on for hits and blocks.
Gudas helped Lars Eller make it 4-3 in the third period of the Caps loss to the Penguins.
This was the defensman's first point since Jan 7 (eight point-less games) so he should not be on fantasy teams.
Gudas made it 2-1 in the second period as the Caps clobbered Ottawa 6-1.
With improving play recently, the veteran got almost twenty minutes of ice time in this game. At 14 points in 44 games (+20) he is probably not a factor in fantasy.
Gudas helped Jakub Vrana as part of a 6 on 5 goal at the end of the third period, with the Caps winning 5-4 in overtime on Sunday.
At 12 points in 42 games (+17) and playing on the third defensive pair, Gudas should not be on fantasy teams.
